Marvin O. Brackman, 85, of Concordia died Jan. 6, 2010, at his home. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Concordia with the Rev. R. Lee Hagan officiating. Burial with military rites was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brackman was born on Sept. 12, 1924, at Concordia. He was the son of Otto and Lily Sagehorn Brackman. He married Geraldine Heermann on Feb. 10, 1957. He lived in Concordia most of his life. He was owner/operator of Western Auto in Concordia and later retired as a civil service employee. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of Concordia VFW Post 5649 and a member of St. Paul's church.

Mr. Brackman is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Kevin Brackman of Concordia; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Cindy) Murray of Concordia; and four grandchildren.

The pallbearers were Jim Evert, Everett Hinck, Robert B. Dotson, Chester Tebbenkamp, Elmer Leimkuehler and Leo Oehlschlaeger.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Saint Paul Lutheran High School or Concordia High School.

Arrangements were made by Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, Concordia.
