Chiefs, Lexington win pool games

Fourth-seeded Santa Fe held off the No.

5 Saint Paul Saints 64-60 and third-seeded Lexington downed No.

6 Concordia 50-47 in pool-play action last week Tuesday before inclement weather cancelled the final day of pool play at the Lafayette County Basketball Tournament at Santa Fe High School in Alma.

The difference in the Chiefs' win was a 20-16 third quarter.

They were led by Matt Lovercamp with 15 points and Jeff Knipmeyer and Hunter Rolf 10 apiece.

Rolf had two three-pointers.

The Saints' Brandon Haake had four threes and 22 points to pace all scorers.

Jordan Bredehoeft added 13 points and Seth Dahlke and Clint Stuenkel 10 apiece.

In Lexington's win, Seth Smith had 16 points and Jake Kaullen 14.

LHS won the fourth quarter 16-9.

Carter Brown had three threes and 19 points and Jamie Thieman 12 points for the Orioles.
