The Chiefs were just as impressive defensively as offensively in the beginning. They outscored Slater 24-2 in the first quarter, Jeff Knipmeyer scoring nine of his game-best 21 points. Knipmeyer had two threes in the opening stanza and three in the game.
Zahl substituted quite a bit throughout the game, the Chiefs only outscoring Slater 8-3 in the second quarter for a 32-5 halftime lead.
Matt Lovercamp, coming back from an injury that kept him out of the lineup a few games, nailed two third-quarter threes and the Chiefs built their lead to 54-18 with a quarter to go.
Lovercamp and Jake Hollingsworth each had eight points, Jeff Kuntz and Hunter Rolf seven apiece, Max Hollingsworth four and Corey Fitzwater, Noah Stoll, Andrew Curry, Nathan Wesley, Dakota Jones and Ben Nienheuser two apiece for the Chiefs.
