Britt's wins two of three games
It was a split decision of games Thursday night for Britt's in LaCoMo East Major League baseball play.
Britt's hammered Sweet Springs 15-1 and lost to Santa Fe Waverly 4-3 in 10 innings.
On June 1, Britt's whipped Higginsville-Schewe 14-2.
Britt's 15, Sweet Springs 1
Britt's blew open the game early with a six-run first inning. Britt's added five runs in the second frame and four in the third of the 3 1/2-inning affair that was halted via the 10-run rule.
Britt's had five hits, including triples by Jordan Schlueter and Derek Woodall and singles by Wyatt Jones, Wade Heim-soth and Alec Mueller. Schlue-ter and Mueller each scored three runs, Jones, Heimsoth, Collin Stringer and Woodall two apiece and Dalton Visentine one. Woodall drove in three runs and Schlueter and Heimsoth one each.
Visentine hurled the distance for the pitching win, allowing one run on three hits and striking out nine. It was Visentine's first-ever major league victory.
Santa Fe Waverly 4, Britt's 3 (10)
The two teams battled through the regulation six innings tied 2-2, Britt's scoring both of its runs in the first frame and Santa Fe Waverly answering with two in the third.
Santa Fe Waverly gained a 3-2 lead with a run in the top of the eighth, but Britt's came back to plate a tally in the bottom half.
Santa Fe Waverly won the game with an unanswered run in the top of the 10th.
Schlueter singled and trip-led and Mueller drilled a single for Britt's. Schlueter scored twice and Mueller once. Stringer had one RBI.
Stringer hurled the first four-plus innings, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while fanning six. Schlueter pitched the next 5 1/3 innings, suffering the loss. He gave up two runs on two hits and whiffed 14. Noah Sleeper got the final two outs of the 10th inning, allowing one hit and one walk.
Britt's 14, Higginsville-Schewe 2
Britt's jumped on Higgins-ville for five runs in the first inning, added three in the second and six in the third after Higginsville had plated two in the top of the third.
Schlueter and Mueller each had two base hits, Sleeper a double and Austin Werths, Heimsoth, Stringer and Wood-all a single apiece for Britt's. Jones scored three runs, Schlueter, Heimsoth and Stringer two apiece and Werths, Mueller, William Caldwell, Woodall and Visen-tine one each. Mueller had two RBIs and Schlueter, Heimsoth, Stringer, Woodall and Visentine one each.
Stringer, hurling the first 2 1/3 frames, earned the win, striking out four. Heimsoth struck out two in two-thirds of an inning and Sleeper fanned two in the final frame.
Britt's was 3-1 in the league and 4-3 overall after the three decisions.
