PP&K in Concordia Saturday

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Saturday is a big day in Concordia as the Concordia Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the nationally recognized NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition.

This is a free contest where youths ages 6 thru 15 will be allowed to exhibit their football skills

The age classifications will be divided into 6-7 years, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15. Each group will have a female and male champion.

Winners will advance to the sectional competition in Warrensburg at a site and date to be determined.

If the athlete excels at the sectional competition, they have the possibility to advance to the team championship competition at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

All participants at the team championships will get to take part in a passing exhibition during pregame or halftime of a Kansas City Chiefs game in November or December.

Registration for the local program will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the competition starting at 10 a.m

All participants will need a signature of a parent on the registration, as well as a valid birth certificate to provide proof of age.

Preregistration forms can be acquired at the Concordia Parks & Recreation or online at NFLyouthfootball.com.
