Ross Wayne Friedly, 76, of Stover and formerly of Blackburn and Concordia, died Dec. 21, 2010, at the Golden Age Living Center at Stover. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Stover with the Rev. Cecil Murdock officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Friedly was born on July 14, 1934, at Stover. He was the son of Lewis Conrad and Myrtle Mae Miller Friedly. He married Margaret Gerlt on Feb. 21, 1957. He was a 1951 graduate of Stover High School. He was a carpenter most of his life, working for Harold Taylor Contracting in the Blackburn area. He later worked as head of the maintenance department for the Lu-theran Good Shepherd Home in Concordia. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Blackburn where he served as an elder. He served as a school board member of Trinity Lu-theran School at Alma. He was a former Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 70 at Blackburn and Troop 33 in Sweet Springs. He was fire chief for the Blackburn Fire Department for several years.

Mr. Friedly is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Jeff Friedly of Sedalia and Alan Friedly of Huntsville; a brother, L.D. Friedly of Butler; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Friedly in 1981; two brothers, Russell Friedly and Claude Friedly; two sisters, Helen Browning and Elva Friedly.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul's church or school in Stover or Mercy Smiles.
