Mary A. Toliver
Mary A. Toliver, 70, of Malta Bend died July 5, 2011, at The Living Center at Marshall. Funeral services were held Saturday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Chapel at Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery at Marshall.
Mrs. Toliver was born on April 4, 1941, at Nowata, Okla. She was the daughter of Grace Howerton Hutcherson. She married Jack L. Toliver on Feb. 20, 1960. She lived in Malta Bend most of her life. She worked at Sweet Springs Care Center, Lutheran Good Shepherd Home at Concordia and retired as Saline County Public Administrator. She was a member of Central League Association of Social Services, Social Service Association of Missouri (past president), Missouri Association of Public Administrators, Saline County Democrat Club, Jefferson Women's Democratic Club of Saline County, Mid-Day Optimist Club and the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Toliver is survived by two sons, Rick Toliver of Marshall and Bryan Toliver of Paola, Kan.; three daughters, Jackie Toliver and Mrs. Dale (DeAnn) Malan of Malta Bend and Mrs. Barry (Lynne) Snyder of New Franklin; two brothers, Bobby Hutcherson and Willie Hutcherson; a sister, Debbie Kiser; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 23, 2010; her mother; her stepfather, L.W. "Bill" Hutcherson; and a brother, Doug Hutcherson.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Jack and Mary Toliver Scholarship Fund or to the Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice.
