Two file on final day

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

In the final hours of filing for the April municipal elections, two additional candidates came forward to make the field in their respective races a little more crowded.

Ruthie Fischer, the current incumbent in Ward 1, was the last to file to run for the seat she has held for one term.

Fischer faces challenges from Jen Jamieson and J. Keith Roberts.

In a repeat of last year's race for the Concordia Board of Education, James Rudy filed to run at nearly the last minute.

The addition of Rudy's name to the ballot, along with incumbents Rob Hemme and Jennifer Foster, means the district will have a three-way race for two seats on the board.

Election day is April 3 this year and those wishing to vote have until March 7 to register.
