Commissioner subpoenaed

The Lafayette County Commission was subpoenaed last week to give a deposition in a court case involving a 2006 incident. It is not known at this time all the parties involved or the circumstances surrounding the case.

Lafayette County Clerk of the County Commission Linda Niendick said the county is not being sued, but could not comment further on the case.

Northern Commissioner Gil Rector was the only current commissioner in office in 2006 and, therefore, was asked to give the deposition. The deposition was scheduled to take place Tuesday.
