Frederick A. Finkeldei, 99, of Moberly and formerly of Kansas City, died May 13, 2012, at Ravenwood Terrace Nursing Home at Moberly. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. today at St. Peters United Church of Christ at Kansas City. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Kansas City.

Mr. Finkeldei was born Jan. 31, 1913, at Blackburn. He was the son of Fred A. and Mamie Hinck Finkeldei. He graduated in 1931 from Blackburn High School. He married Hildegarde Kirchhoff in 1939, and they lived on a farm near Blackburn. He moved to Raytown in 1949 and drove a transport truck for 27 years. He was also a professional photographer. He bowled and competed in the 2009 Open Championship in Las Vegas, Nev., at the age of 96. He was a member of St. Peters church and served as treasurer and on other committees. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, the Kansas City Turners and the Germania Club of Kansas City.

Mr. Findeldei is survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2003; and a brother, Earl Finkeldei, Feb. 29, 2004.

The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of choice.
