Mary Twanette Kurle, 97, of Concordia and formerly of Sugar Creek, died June 16, 2012, at the Lutheran Nursing Home at Concordia. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Newcomers Funeral Home at Independence with the Rev. Patrick Niles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour pre- ceding the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery at Independence.

Mrs. Kurle was born Aug. 10, 1914, at Argentine, Kan. She was the daughter of Wil-liam and Myrtle Gilmore Buck. She married Edward Kurle on Nov. 29, 1932. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia and a f­­­ormer member of Messiah Lu-theran Church at Independence.

Mrs. Kurle is survived by a son, Keith Kurle of Lee's Summit; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Barbara) Kueck of Concordia; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 19, 1996; a son, John William Kurle; two brothers, Frank Buck and Loren "Dick" Buck; two sisters, Joan Cates and Bonnie Baugher; and a grandson.

The pallbearers will be Garret Kueck, Garth Kueck, Galen Kueck, Ethan Kueck, David Kurle and Brian Kurle. Jennifer Kurle Groom will be an honorary pallbearer.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul's church, Crossroads Hospice or a family choice.
