Crash injures area man

A La Monte man was seriously injured in an early-morning, two-vehicle accident south of Concordia Tuesday.

The accident occurred at 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Missouri Highway 23 and Route PP.

A 1993 Ford F-150 driven by Troy V. Yount, 41, of Concordia, was turning onto Route PP when it struck a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by William L. Boles, 34, of La Monte, according to an unofficial Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) report.

The motorcycle was traveling northbound on highway 23 when the Ford failed to yield.

Boles was seriously injured in the accident and transported to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City by air ambulance. Yount was not injured in the accident.

Both men were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP report.

The investigation into the accident continues with charges pending.
