Funeral services were held Saturday at Smith Chapel United Meth-odist Church near Marshall, with the Rev. Barry Baugh officiating. Burial with military rites was in the church cemetery.
| Mr. Davis was born Jan. 7, 1932, near Napton. He was the son of Joseph B. Jr. and Hortense Woodsmall Davis. On July 13, 1995, he married Doris Peterman Allen. |
He lived in Saline County his entire life. He was a farmer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558 and the Ozark Winnebago Club, served on the Napton School Board and Saline County Farm Bureau Board and was an ASCS Saline County committeeman. He was a member of Smith Chapel church and served on the church board.
He is survived by his wife of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Marilyn) Ahrens and Mrs. Roger (Patsy) Dehn of Marshall and Mrs. Tom (Carol) Tieman of Alma; a stepson, Paul Allen of Sweet Springs; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Greg (Barbara) Snyder of Green City; a sister, Nora Thomas of Marshall; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-great- granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Davis in infancy; three brothers, John B. Davis in infancy, Joseph W. Davis Sr. and Thomas W. Davis; and a sister, Lillian Johnson.

The honorary pallbearers were Kelsie Overbey, Nancy Laurenti, Adam Ahrens, Tate Snyder, Suzanne Allen and Mark Allen.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
