Renata E. Hader, 99, of Independence died July 29, 2012, at St. Mary's Manor at Blue Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Independence. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Alma. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church preceding the service.
Mrs. Hader was born June 29, 1913, at Alma. She was the daughter of William and Gesche Bargfrede Rolf. She married Ervin O. Hader on Dec. 24, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church at Alma. She was a 1932 graduate of Alma High School. She served in a variety of clerical positions, working for The Forum Cafeteria and Rival Manufacturing companies. She was a secretary at St. Paul's church for 12 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Lutheran Laymen's League and the church Altar Guild. She volunteered at the senior citizen craft shop on the Independence Square for eight years.
Mrs. Hader is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 3, 1982; two brothers, Fred Rolf and Herman "Brownie" Rolf; and a sister, Marie Moekhoff.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church or the Lutheran High School of Greater Kansas City.
Arrangements were made by Speaks Suburban Chapel at Independence.
Frances Bargfrede of Alma is a niece of Mrs. Hader.
