Work continues at local schools

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

While students and faculty were enjoying their time away from Concordia's public school buildings, a number of contracting crews were hard at work.

Troy Marnholtz, Concordia High School principal, said projects were done both inside and out at his building.

One of the most visible projects to the public was the installation of new lights and fencing at the football field. Other projects included upgrades to the school's kitchens and art classroom, replacing or refurbishing old lockers and the installation of new doors. The building also got a fresh coat of paint, a refinished gymnasium floor and new climate control equipment.

New signs, improved lighting and improved entryway awnings are still in the works.

Joe Beydler, Concordia Elementary principal, said his building got some much needed roofing work done. Crews also made masonry repairs to the building's exterior brickwork.
