Wednesday, September 5, 2012

A St. Louis man received minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 near Concordia last Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred east of the Emma junction at the 64-mile marker in Saline County.

Thomas A. Post, 65, received minor injuries when his 2008 Mercury sedan was forced off the right side of the westbound lane of I-70 by a 2003 Chrysler sedan driven by Steven P. Childs, 63, of Hutchinson, Kan, according to

a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) report.

The MSHP report states the Chrysler merged into the path of the Mercury and struck it. At the scene, both vehicles were sitting in tall grass near the roadside.

The report said Post refused treatment at the scene for his injuries. Both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.
