Schowengerdt fires in 38 in 'Hounds' win

Jacob Schowengerdt pumped in a game-high 38 points, leading the homestanding Sweet Springs Greyhounds to a 71-63 victory over Leeton Friday.

Schowengerdt started fast by scoring 10 points in the first quarter, the 'Hounds leading 16-6.

He fired in 13 points in the second quarter, but the 'Hounds' lead dipped to 40-33.

Schowengerdt was slowed to seven points in the third quarter, but Matt Harris picked up the slack by hitting two threes and eight points, the 'Hounds holding a 57-53 lead.

Schowengerdt finished with seven two-point field goals, four threes and 12 for 12 from the free-throw line, where the 'Hounds were 21 for 25.

Harris scored 16 points, including three threes.
