James A. Wolpers
James A. Wolpers, 75, of Kansas City died Nov. 23, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, Northland Chapel at Liberty. The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. preceding the service at the chapel. A private burial will be in Glenridge Cemetery at Liberty.
Mr. Wolpers was born on Aug. 30, 1937. He was the son of Harry and Bertha Dittmer Wolpers. He married Janet Kothe in 1957. They divorced. He married Jessie McKeehan on Jan. 17, 1975. He was a 1955 graduate of Alma High School. He farmed for several years near Sweet Springs and later moved to Kansas City. He worked as a machinist for Jenkins Industrial Machine Works in North Kansas City, before retiring.
Mr. Wolpers is survived by six sons, Jeff Wolpers of Houston, Texas and Jamie Wolpers of Jacksonville, Fla., Rick Wolpers of Liberty, Doyal Waisner of Boise, Idaho, Terry Waisner of Springfield and Danny Waisner of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Jeannie) Stoll of Alma and Mrs. Wally (Vella) Hinck of Concordia; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on July 21, 1996; a sister, Barbara Schroeder; two sons, Steve Waisner and Mike Waisner; and an infant daughter.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
