Honor Guard holds Memorial Day services

Wednesday, May 29, 2013
Concordia Honor Guard renders honors at New Hope Cemetery on Route KK Monday, May 27. It was one of 12 locations scheduled for the annual tribute. According to Rich-ard Strobel, commander of Concordia Veterans Honor Guard, this was the first year in the organization's history weather affected services. Due to lightning, they were able to hold ceremonies at all but two locations. "Thank you to those who braved to weather to honor our veterans," Strobel said. He added the organization apologizes to anyone waiting on a ceremony that was canceled and appreciates their commitment. (Photo courtesy of Mel Bockelman)
