Cover crop meeting includes speakers, farm tour

The Lafayette Soil and Water Conservation District and Natural Resource Conservation Service is hosting a Cover Crop Meeting open to the public Wednesday, Nov. 13.

The meeting will be held at the Higginsville Community Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided. There will be a farm tour and three key speakers -- Whitney Wiegel from the University of Missouri Extension, Doug Peterson a NRCS state soil health conservationist, and Steve Wooden a NRCS district conservationist from Saline County. There is no charge to attend. Organizers request those interested to RSVP by Friday, Nov. 8, to get an accurate count for lunch.
