Traffic on the westbound Interstate 70 on-ramp at Concordia was moving slower than usual Monday morning, Nov. 11, after Missouri Department of Transportation crews began setting up equipment in that area.

Motorists should expect delays on I-70 between Emma and Route 13 as MoDOT begins several construction projects.

Pavement repair is scheduled Tuesday, Nov. 12, for the westbound off ramp from I-70 to Route 23. Likewise, the eastbound on ramp will undergo pavement repair Monday, Nov. 18. The I-70 eastbound off ramp to Route 23 will also have repair work next Monday.

The rest area for westbound traffic is closed Monday for pavement repair, while the rest area for eastbound traffic will undergo the same work Monday, Nov. 18.

Here are other projects planned for the immediate area:

Nov. 11-13 -- I-70 pavement repair; westbound from Saline County

Nov. 14 -- I-70 pavement repair; eastbound from the 51 mile marker

MoDOT has several future construction projects planned in Lafayette County including pavement improvements from the Johnson County line to the south end of Concordia and resurfacing I-70 from Johnson Drive to Route 13, among multiple other projects.
