Willard L. Frerking
Willard L. Frerking, 87, of Concordia, died Nov. 6, 2013, at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park, Kan. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church at Ernest-ville with the Rev. James Dahlke officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery at Concordia.
Mr. Frerking was born Sept. 17, 1926, at Concordia. He was the son of George and Elsie Krone Frerking. He married Pearl Harris on May 29, 1947. He graduated from Concordia High School in 1944. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1944, serving during the Asiatic Pacific Theater and discharged in 1946. He worked as an electrician for Phillips Petroleum Company from 1947 to 1978 and then worked for the North Kansas City School District, retiring in 1988. He also owned and operated Ceramics by Pearl with his wife. Following retirement, he moved back to Concordia. He was a member of St. Matthew church and Concordia VFW Post 5649.
Mr. Frerking is survived by a brother, George R. Frerking of Grandview.
He was preceded in death by his wife on April 19, 2007.
The pallbearers were Jon Lange, Ben Lange, Nathan Chiarelli, Sam Frerking, Kevin Frerking and Chris West.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
