James Joseph 'Jimmy' McAllister

James Joseph "Jimmy" McAllister, 77, of Lexington, and formerly of Sweet Springs, died Jan. 2, 2014, at Lafayette Regional Health Center, in Lexington.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with the Rev. Virgil Dennis officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs.

Mr. McAllister was born Jan. 29, 1936, at Kansas City. He was the son of Ernest and Helen Hill McAllister. He worked for the Saline County Sheriff's Department for many years. He attended Christ Lutheran Church near Sweet Springs.

Mr. McAllister is survived by a nephew, John McAllister, of Clinton; and a great-nephew, James Lee Dennis, of Concordia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert McAllister.
