Harold Robert Niemeyer
Harold Robert Niemeyer, 90, of Raymore, died July 21, 2014. Inurnment with military honors was held Thursday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, at Higginsville.
Mr. Niemeyer was born July 1, 1924, at Concordia. He was the son of Fritz and Frieda Schelp Niemeyer. He was employed by the United States Post Office as a letter carrier. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland and Northern France. He was awarded four Bronze Stars.
Mr. Niemeyer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maxine, of Raymore; two sons, Robert Niemeyer and Thomas Niemeyer; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Janet) Eckhoff; a sister, Louise Stockbauer; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence Niemeyer, Walter Niemeyer, Raymond Niemeyer and Earl Niemeyer; and two sisters, Esther Schmidt and Ellen Pragman.
Arrangements were made by Park Lawn Funeral Home, Kansas City.
Mr. Niemeyer is also a cousin of Mildred Kirchhoff, of Concordia.
