Traffic diverted after Route 23 wreck

Tuesday, August 26, 2014
Volunteers with the Concordia Fire Protection District either direct traffic to turn around or take alternate means south after an accident at approximately 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, on state Route 23. Since the accident caused live power lines to fall across the roadway, it was closed between county routes CC and PP so workers from Kansas City Power and Light could repair the damages. One person was transported to I-70 Community Hospital, in Sweet Springs, according to radio traffic at 10:05 a.m. (Charles Dunlap/The Concordian)
