Lady Greyhounds edge Northwest in three sets

Nicole Bright supplied five kills, two service aces, one block and two digs, leading the Sweet Springs Lady Greyhounds volleyball team to a 27-25, 22-25, 25-22 win over Northwest last week Tuesday.

Ashleigh Bright added four kills, seven blocks, two service aces and two digs and Olivia Loges three kills, six blocks and one dig.

Megan Evans added two service aces and 14 assists and Anna Eckhoff two aces and three digs.

The Lady Cougars split matches last week, hammering Smithton 25-14, 25-14 last week Tuesday and losing a three-setter 25-15, 15-25, 16-25 to Sacred Heart, of Sedalia.

In the win, Lily Hunter led the Lady Cougars with six kills and three blocks. Timber Erisman dished out 14 assists

In the setback to Sacred Heart, the Lady Cougars were led by Whitney Hutcherson with seven kills and Hunter with four kills and six blocks.

"We took a good Sacred Heart team to three sets and really showed how well we can play in game one," CRHS head coach Katie Woolsey said. "We will learn how to maintain that focus and energy throughout the entire match."
