Hunter Education Course available

Tuesday, March 24, 2015

The Missouri Department of Conservation will host a Hunter Education Skills Session Sunday, March 29, from 1-5 p.m. at the Higginsville Community Building.

Hunter Education Certification is required to purchase hunting permits in Missouri for all hunters who are 16-65 years old. Students must be at least 11 years old before the class begins and prior to hunting without the aid of a mentor. Certification is acquired through a two-part class known as the knowledge and skills portion.

The class is an International Hunter Education Association certification and is valid for hunting in all 50 states and countries involved with IHEA curriculum. The knowledge portion can be completed by visiting www.mdc.mo.gov and following the link to the Hunter/Bowhunter education course finder and signing-up for the online course. The knowledge portion must be completed before the skills session.

More information is available on the MDC website or at www.register-ed.com.
