Frau Lions suffer two losses
Frau Lions didn't have any problems scoring runs in their two most recent softball games. But they gave up too many tallies and lost a 24-14 decision to Marshall in Minor League softball action. Frau Lions also dropped a 10-9 contest to Santa Fe-State Bank.
Marshall 24, Frau Lions 14
Frau Lions scored four times in the second inning and five in the third and fourth frames. However, Marshall accumulated four runs in the first inning and five in each the second, third, fourth and fifth stanzas.
Kiya Inman drilled a double to lead the Frau Lions offense. Landry Yount, Hali Deatherage, Breeann Ratliff, Josephine Vannoy and Emily Wilkens added a single each.
Addison Roepe, Ratliff and Inman each scored two runs and Ava Hemme, Yount, Nevaeh Rozell, Brooke Bonar, Olivia Hemme, Vannoy, Rinley Hulver and Breanna Meyer one each. Deatherage drove in two runs and Rozell, Bonar, Ratliff, Inman, Vannoy and Hulver one each.
Deatherage and Kaleigh Benson each struck out two in outings on the hill. Roepe also did some pitching.
Santa Fe-State Bank 10, Frau Lions 8
Frau Lions plated two runs in the first inning, two more in the third, three in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Santa Fe plated three tallies in the first frame, two in the fourth, four in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Ava Hemme drilled a double and two base hits to lead the Frau Lions' hitting attack.
Deatherage added a single and a double, Rozell, Bonar and Wilkens two singles each and Yount a triple and Vannoy, Ratliff and Inman a base hit each.
Ava Hemme scored three times, Deatherage twice and Yount and Vannoy once each.
Benson hurled a complete game, but suffered the loss. She struck out 11.
