Weather conditions lead to 'Red-flag warning'
Weather conditions in Lafayette County have led to a Red-flag warning being issued by the National Weather Service until 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.
Red-flag warnings are given when winds are at least 45 mph and humidity is less than 25 percent. The dry and windy conditions make it easy for any fire to quickly spread.
According to the National Weather Service, it is not recommended to conduct any outdoor burning. This includes, but is not limited to, burn barrels, outdoor grills, or wood piles.
The warning is also in effect for Bates, Buchanan, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Henry, Jackson, Johnson, Pettis, Platte and Ray counties.
