Evelyn L. Borgstadt
Evelyn L. Borgstadt, 83, of Concordia, died Friday, July 8, 2016, at the Lutheran Nursing Home, in Concordia, as family and friends surrounded her.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Concordia Baptist Church, with Pastor John Cox officiating. Burial was in Concordia Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Borgstadt was born May 15, 1933, in Waverly. She was the daughter of Emil Selle and Bertha Rogge Selle. She was a resident of Concordia since marriage. She met the love of her life, Roy Borgstadt, when working for Burlington Manufacturing Company, in Concordia. They married on July 3, 1955. They lived in the same house until they moved into the Lutheran Nursing Home. Roy preceded her in death on January 22, 2016. Evelyn and Roy enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and traveling. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Waverly, and was active in the VFW Women's Auxiliary for many years.
Survivors include three sisters Jean Phillips, of Waverly, Shirley Limback, of Alma and Janice Wagner, of Higginsville; sister-in-law, Ruby Kearney, of Concordia; and many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Selle and Kenneth Selle.
The pallbearers were Freddie Limback, Mitchell Limback, Don Wagner, Brian Wagner, Randy Phillips and Jeremy Kearney. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Wagner, Kevin Selle, Jeff Kearney, Justin Kearney, Kevin Bruns and Brent Markham.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Waverly, Concordia Baptist Church or Preferred Hospice, in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, in Concordia. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com
