I-70 volleyballers will be filling big shoes of last year's stars
The 2016 season on the volleyball court in the I-70 Conference will be featuring a lot of new faces, as many of last year's stars have graduated.
Only four of the 17 members of last year's all-conference team return to the hardwood this season, with only three of the eight teams in the league featuring those players.
The Saint Paul Lady Saints return Grace Stumbaugh and Shannon Peters, who both made the all-conference squad as juniors.
Santa Fe's Sadie Limback earned a spot on the all-conference team as just a sophomore while helping the Lady Chiefs secure a Class 1 state championship.
Orrick's Madi Fulte is back after a solid junior campaign, but the Lady Bearcats will have to replace Hannah Thurnau, who was also an honorable mention.
Sweet Springs will need to replace outside hitter Kortnee Vaught, their only all-conference pick. Wellington and Lone Jack will be doing the same with Jamie Ruskey and Savannah Lyons, respectively.
The Crest Ridge Lady Cougars will look to fill the voids left by Kaylee Schmidli and Megan VanHarn. Concordia needs to replace three all-conference performers in Ellison Brunkhorst, Cailey Cooper and Mallory Scherer.
Defending conference champion Santa Fe loses Sadie's older sister Kylie from the all-conference list, as well as Lauren Wiggins, Kenzie Phillips and Courtney Bishop.
