Concordia resident faces weapons charges
According to reporting from KMZU, Concordia resident Michael D. Armstead was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 17, on two felony counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.
After a warrant search of the residence, officers found 25 20-round boxes of PMC X-TAC 5.56 ammunition, four 25-round boxes of Golden Saber Remington .45 Auto ammunition, one 20-round box of American Eagle AR 223 ammunition, one 120-round package of Green Tip LAP 5.56 ammunition, two loaded eight-round .45 auto 1911 pistol magazines and one loaded 30-round 5.56 Pmag magazine for a rifle.
According to KMZU, a criminal history check revealed Armstead has previous felony convictions for unlawful use of a firearm and domestic assault and felonious restraint.
Armsted is in custody at the Lafayette County Jail, in Lexington. A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 7.
