Students participate in West Central Honor Choir
On Saturday, March 4, students from Concordia Elementary School participated in the West Central Missouri Music Educators Fifth and Sixth Grade Honor Choirs at the University of Central Missouri. Students in the two choirs gathered for a day of rehearsals with a special clinician and a concert.
The fifth-grade Honor Choir was directed by Daniel Gutierrez, who is a vocal music teacher at Reed Academy and the director for Boys Choir of Springfield. He is an active conductor, clinician and presenter throughout the state of Missouri and will be the conductor for the Arkansas All-State Junior High Treble Choir this summer. His ensembles have been featured at regional and national music conferences, university performances, and in the Springfield community.
The sixth-grade Honor Choir was conducted by Ryan Main, who is a conductor, clinician and composer of choral and band music. He is the interim director of music at Village Presbyterian Church and the founding director of the Youth Chorus of Kansas City.
Fifth-grade students attending from CES were Ava Hemme, Bailey Hutler, Kiya Inman, Eowyn Loveland, Brandon Roepe and Oliva Rolf. Sixth-grade students attending were Tristan Arnold, Holly Brown, Gregory Moutlon, Britney Roepe, Kirsten Streeter and Racheal Yeager. All are students of Mrs. Alisa Brown.
