Concordia golf rolls through final 2017 matches
The Concordia Orioles tore up the links to wrap the regular season in boys’ golf, winning two of three matches and finishing second in the other.
The Orioles jumped all over the competition in a quad with Fayette, Green Ridge and Sacred Heart at the Sedalia Country Club, winning the team competition by 25 strokes with a team score of 186.
Kade Meineka was the individual medalist with a 40 in nine holes against the par-35 course. Landon Mulligan tied for runner-up with a 42, and Tad Deathrage shot a 45.
The Orioles came close to winning at Adams Pointe Country Club, in Blue Springs, finishing ahead of Harrisonville and Odessa at a quad match but finishing in second 13 strokes behind winner Excelsior Springs with a team score of 191.
Meineka went one over par with a 37 to claim the medalist spot once again. Deathrage added a 43. Tanner Wilson fired a 55, while Mulligan finished with a 56.
The Orioles were easily the best team on the links at Tri-County Country Club in a triangular with Saint Paul and Green Ridge, besting the Saints by a whopping 48 strokes with a 182 team score.
Meinkea took home another medalist finish with a 6-over-par 42. Deathrage was runner-up at 43, and Mulligan was right behind him after firing a 45.
