Linus “Lenny” Boland
Linus (Lenny) Boland, 75, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, formerly of Waverly, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Skyline Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. J. Kenneth Criqui officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Dover. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with visitation following from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. John’s Cemetery or Family Choice. Born Nov. 25, 1941, in Waverly, he was the son of the late Cletus and Rose Melies Boland. On Dec. 7, 1968, he married Sally O’Hara who survives of the home. Lenny lived in Waverly most of his life and was a 1959 graduate of Santa Fe High School. He served in the Missouri Army National Guard and as a policeman in Kansas City. He moved back to Waverly to farm and then retired as the Rural Mail Carrier in Waverly. He was a former member of the Waverly Jaycees, the Knights of Columbus, and served as president of the Waverly Rural Fire Department and as a facilitator for the Rural Mail Carrier’s Association.
Lenny was loved by so many and never met a stranger. His laugh was contagious and he always had a story to tell. He loved spending time with his beloved family and his grand-dog, Wynnie.
In addition to his wife, Sally, he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Stewart and husband Darryl of Evans, Ga., and Lisa Collier and husband Joey of Hendersonville, Tenn.; granddaughters, Katelyn and Alison Stewart; a grandson, Cory Stewart; a great-grandson, Sawyer Stewart; siblings Denis (Elsie) Boland of Waverly, John (Shirley) Boland of Dover, Mary (Artie) Kipping of Carrollton, Joan (Wayne) Clouse of Marshall, Helen (Bob) Pigg of Richmond, and Mike (Carolyn) Boland of Waverly; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
