Four Florida residents were injured in a traffic crash in Lafayette County

Four Florida residents were injured in a traffic crash in Lafayette County on Sunday, May 14. A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Ashline Jean, of Tampa, traveled off the left side of the interstate, struck the median cable, continued through the median, across the interstate, struck the guardrail and came to rest in the left lane of the interstate. The crash occurred at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the 47 mile marker on I-70.

The driver reportedly was not injured, four passengers in the vehicle, including children ages 7, 6 and 5, all of Tampa, and 23-year-old Kanesha Crumity, of Tampa, suffered minor injuries. They were transported by ambulance to an Independence hospital for treatment. The reports states that each of the vehicle’s occupants was wearing a safety device.
