Concordia Bowl barrels to pair of wins
Concordia Bowl got the 2017 Little League softball season off to a great start by sweeping a doubleheader against LaCoMo Central on May 8 at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Concordia Bowl won game one with ease 15-1, scoring five runs in all three innings they came to the plate. A much closer affair broke out in game two, with LaCoMo leading 4-2 after two innings before Concordia came back and pulled away for a 12-7 victory.
Hailey Arnold got the ball and earned a complete-game victory in the pitcher’s circle, allowing just one hit and one walk in four innings while striking out 10. Arnold pitched the second game as well, yielding two hits andfour4 walks while racking up 10 K’s.
Arnold had 3 hits in as many at-bats in game one, including a double, and scored three runs. Nyssa Brown, Jewel Koonce and Emmy Wilkins each had 2 runs batted in and combined for 5 hits in game one. Faith Moore joined Arnold with 3 runs scored.
Carly Fahrmeir drove in a run and scored twice after getting two hits in game two. Brown collected a pair of RBI.
