Shirley A. Nierman
Shirley A. Nierman, 72, of Concordia, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at St. Maryís Medical Center in Blue Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Concordia with Pastor Tom Lange officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born September 17, 1944, in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Herman Schmohe and Frieda Brandt Schmohe. Shirley lived in the Concordia area most of her life where she was a 1962 graduate of Concordia High School, and then attended University of Missouri- Columbia. On October 19, 1963 she married Edward L. (Ed) Nierman, who survives of the home. She worked as a bank teller at Concordia Bank for some time, but the majority of her life was spent being a homemaker for her family. Shirley was an active part of the family farm, working right along with Ed, as well as keeping the books for the farm. She was a member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid #3, helping arrange numerous funeral luncheons, as well as having been a member Concordia Jayceeís Wives, and serving as a 4-H Leader. Shirley loved to be in her yard, whether it be gardening, or doing one of her favorite things, mowing the grass.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jenny Keilig and husband Brian of Omaha, Neb.; one son, Curt Nierman of Lincoln, Neb.; three grandchildren, Cory, Olivia, and Sophia Keilig; one brother, Kenneth Schmohe and wife JoAnn of Boulder, Colo.; one sister, Ruth Ohrenberg and husband Wes of Springfield; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Roger Driver, Aaron Schmohe, Tim Ohrenberg, Joe Blackburn, Jim Summerville, Dr. Jon Schroeder and Ryan Driver.
