Higginsville man charged with several sex-related crimes

Online court documents indicate that a Higginsville man has been charged with sex-related felonies involving a juvenile after an alleged incident that occurred last year in Lafayette County.

According to a probable-cause statement, on Aug. 1, 2017, a victim stated during an interview that 20-year-old Josiah Beck, allegedly forced sexual acts on her during an incident in May 2016. The victim also allegedly stated that, prior to the incident, she had informed Beck that she was 13 years old and did not have romantic feelings for him.

Online court documents state that Beck has been charged with two counts of an Unclassified Felony for First-Degree Statutory Sodomy and one count of an Unclassified Felony for First-Degree Statutory Rape-Sexual Intercourse with a Person Less than 14 years old.

Bond was set at $250,000 cash only, with special conditions of no contact with anyone under the age of 18. In addition, the accused is to wear a GPS monitoring device upon release.

A future date for Beck at Lafayette County Circuit Court in Lexington is pending.
