Concordia resident injured in Lafayette County crash

A Concordia resident was injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Lafayette County at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred as a northbound 2000 Infinity driven by Sebastian Vanshaw, 19, of Concordia, reportedly traveled off the west side of the roadway and returned to the roadway before traveling into the path of a southbound 2012 Chevrolet, driven by Julia Gann, 57, of Mayview. The report states that Vanshaw’s vehicle overturned and came to rest off the east side of the roadway.

Gann, who reportedly was wearing a safety device, was not injured. Vanshaw, who the report states was wearing a safety device, was transported by ambulance to an Independence hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The crash happened on Route O, three-tenths of a mile north of Barkertown.
