Marion Walkenhorst Dotson McBroom, 95, of Concordia, Missouri, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at The Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia, with Dr. Alan Gatewood and Rev. Tim Biesemeyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Church of Christ Choir, Concordia Fire Department or Concordia Public Library in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born Dec. 1, 1921, in Concordia, Marion was the daughter of the late Walter Walkenhorst and Erma Hoelscher Walkenhorst Freese. She lived in Concordia her entire life and was a graduate of Concordia High School. On Feb. 15, 1942, at Bethel United Church of Christ, she married George B. Dotson and he preceded her in death. Then on Nov. 25, 1996, in Concordia she married Norman McBroom, who also preceded her in death. She was an administrative secretary at Truman Medical Center; HS Brady M.D.; and Concordia School District. She was a lifelong member of Bethel United Church of Christ, a 65-year member of Order of the Eastern Star, a charter member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, and a member of Medical Secretaries Association and Forum Club.

Survivors include three children: Robert B. Dotson and wife Karen of Concordia, Connie Pyles of Blue Springs, and Leslie A. Dotson and wife Cecelia of Salisbury; four grandchildren: Barbara Metcalf and husband Jim, Craig Dotson, Ann Dotson and Alane Lidolph and husband Ryan; four great-grandchildren: Amilia Poling and husband Adam, Sofia Metcalf, Brady Lidolph and Austin Lidolph; one great-great-granddaughter, Lucie Poling; and one nephew, Thomas Schoene and wife Kathy.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Marion was preceded in death by her stepfather, Olen Freese, and one sister, Jean Schoene Johnson.
