Ken Wilsie, 70, of Concordia, died Dec. 1, at St. Luke’s on the plaza in Kansas City.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the City Cemetery, in Higginsville, with Pastor Bill Virgin of the Life Christian Center officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home in Higginsville. Casket Bearers will be Mike Rogers, Ernie Johnson, Jason Wells, Mike Wells, David Kesten, Remington Kesten, Dru Felkins and Ed Irelan. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Harold Griffel, Jim Parsell, Doug Murray, Jordan Salyer and Donnie Homfeld. Memorials are suggested to family choice to assist youth bowlers. Born Oct. 23, 1947, in Cass City, Mich., he was the son of Floyd and Maxine (McDurmon) Wilsie. On July 14, 1991, in Chillicothe, he married Laretta Wells, who survives of the home.
Ken was a special educator at the Higginsville Habilitation Center, where he started the Boy Scout program, and at Rolling Meadow School, from which he retired. He was also a paramedic and a bus monitor for the Rolling Meadow School. He enjoyed bowling, old westerns and wood carving.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jason Wilsie (Tijauana) of Alma and Wesley Wilsie of Concordia; a daughter, Kandace Wells of Concordia; and eight grandchildren, Dallas, Sky, Carlie, DaShawn, Amere, Jacey, Hailey, and Logan Wilsie.
