On Tuesday, Nov. 28, the Santa Fe High School Chiefs boys basketball team traveled north to Tina-Avalon High School to take on the Dragons in a non-conference matchup. The Chiefs scored early and often, putting up 17 first quarter points on their way to defeating the Dragons 50-17.
Senior Chiefs forward Andrew Edwards put in 24 points, but his 10th field goal of the game (good for points 21 and 22) was his most memorable, as that basket gave him his 1,000th varsity basketball point. It is a rare accomplishment and one that he and his teammates should be proud of.
The victory moves the Chiefs to 2-0, still awaiting their first conference game. Inversely, the loss dropped the Dragons to 0-2.
