Mary Ann Henning
Mary Ann Henning, 87, of Concordia, Missouri, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at Northcare Hospice House in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Concordia with the Rev. Paul Mehl officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The pallbearers will be Joseph Henning, Jonathan Henning, Craig Misak, Nicholas Henning, Isaiah Bragg, Andrew Wilson and Samuel Henning. Born Jan. 31, 1930, in Alma, she was the daughter of the late Gus Rist and Clara Rolf Rist. She lived in Lafayette County her entire life and was a graduate of Alma High School. On Nov. 16, 1947, she married Harlan Henning who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1976. Mary Ann worked in the kitchen of Lutheran Good Shepherd Home and retired as assistant dietitian after 25 years of employment. She was a member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three children: Carol Henning of Concordia, Robert Henning and wife Beverly of Overland Park, Kan., and Randall Henning and wife Susan of Blue Springs; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Leslie Rist and wife Doris of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Elda Rist of Alma; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Keith Henning, and one brother, Ronald Rist.
