Kenneth A. Biffle, 67, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Concordia, Missouri, died Monday, January 29, 2018, at Arizona State Veterans Home in Phoenix.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at St. Paulís Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Mehl officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Pallbearers are Mitchel Ditmer, Spencer Wood, Jason Hutchens, Jake Jones, Gabe McCollum and Rickey Foster. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Tyler, Elbert Bredehoeft, Jim Krause, Danny McBroom, Wayne Lindemann, Walt Lindemann, Lonnie Fisher and Dave Matthews. Burial with military rites will be in St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or family choice. Friends may sign the online register book at
Born Jan. 4, 1951, in West Plains, Kenneth was the son of the late Raymond Biffle and Jewel Cockman Biffle Stuermer. He was a 1969 graduate of Concordia High School. On June 16, 1973, he married Lola G. Mahnken, who survives of the home. He moved to Phoenix three and a half years ago moving from Concordia, where he was owner/operator of Biffleís Smoke House BBQ for 30 years. He retired in December of 2013. He was a former member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Concordia and a current member of Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a lifetime member of American Legion Post 258, and a member of Concordia V.F.W. Post 5649. He was also a member of Concordia Lions Club and served on the Concordia City Council for eight years.
In addition to his wife Lola, Kenneth is survived by four children: Chad Biffle and partner Kerry Kuehn of Phoenix, Wendy Dittmer and husband Gerald, Liesha Gleason, and Darren Wood and wife Kathryn all of Concordia; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Claude Biffle and wife Judy of Austin, Texas, James Biffle of Concordia, and Velda Atkinson and husband Stan of Leeís Summit; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Lainey McGee; a son-in-law, Stan Heath; his stepfather, Walter Stuermer; and his stepmother, Eileen Biffle.
