Alleen Marie (Frerking) Fuchs
Alleen Marie (Frerking) Fuchs, 91, of Concordia, Missouri, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at The Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Pastor Michael Pottschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Burial will be in St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia. Pallbearers will be Wendel Oetting, Harold Oetting, Travis Flandermeyer, Andy Kimrey, Terry Wodrich and Bill Garrison. Memorials may be made to St. Paulís Lutheran Church, St. Paulís Grade School, or The Lutheran Good Shepherd Home. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Alleen was born on Oct. 6, 1926, at Ernestville, the daughter of the late Alexander and Ida (Oetting) Frerking. She attended St. Matthewís Lutheran School until fourth grade, then attended St. Paulís Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Concordia High School. She was united in marriage to Wilbert Fuchs on March 5, 1947, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville, Ill., by Rev. Fred Duensing. They had two children, Ronald and Marsha.
Alleen was a homemaker, wife, and mother. She worked in two area grocery stores for 22 years and was a Tupperware dealer for 20 years. She was an active member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, and was a member of its altar guild and Ladies Aid #1. Alleen served in various community organizations, including the election board and Concordia Community Center board. She was also a charter and lifetime member of VFW Post 5649 Auxiliary and had served as its president and secretary for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Tomchaney, of Noblesville, Ind.; five granddaughters: Jennifer Howard and husband Anton of Noblesville, Ind., Michelle Revercomb and husband Brian of Noblesville, Ind., Jill Welsh and husband Daryl of Union Mills, Ind., Sarah Pasternak and husband David of Island Lake, Ill., and Stephanie Fuchs of Palatine, Ill.; three great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alleen was preceded in death by her parents and husband, one son, Ronald Fuchs; one son-in-law, Stephen Tomchaney; and the grandmother, aunts and uncles who gave her a loving Christian home.
