Albert Hemme, 83, of rural Concordia, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at his home.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Bethel United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Alan Gatewood and Pastor Bill Rosser officiating.
Albert was born May 23, 1934, in Sweet Springs, and was the son of the late William and Rosa Weber Hemme. Albert lived in the Emma and Concordia areas his entire life and wore many different hats. He served as a Concordia policeman, Concordia volunteer fireman, bus driver, construction worker on I-70 from Emma east, and retired as a superintendent with the City of Concordia after 27 years of service. On May 28, 1955, he married Barbara Welch, and to this union three children were born: Joyce, Terry and Debbie. On June 5, 1987, he married Wanda Langkrahr, and they had one daughter, Kayla. Albert enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved his family, grandkids, car racing, mules, card playing (pitch), telling stories, and Schlitz beer.
In addition to his wife, Wanda; his memory will live on forever in the hearts of his four children: Joyce Hemme, Terry Hemme and wife Terri, Debbie Parker and husband Bert, and Kayla Rosser and husband Sam; his wonderful 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; his cousins: Carol Wilckens, Nadine Reith and Robert Hemme; as well as his nieces, nephews, and his many, many, friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Ervin Hemme, Harvey Hemme, Elva Schnakenberg, Della Hemme and Wilbert Hemme.
