Jerry Bryant, 63, of Concordia, Missouri, died Friday, March 16, 2018, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Concordia Baptist Church with Bro. John Cox and Dale Pollard officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Concordia Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Pallbearers are Tad Kirchhoff, Matt Nierman, Josiah Nierman, Chad Mullins, Joe Lunbeck, Bobby Wilson, Reece Inman and Ben Myrick. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Johnson, Richard Bristow, Tom Payne, Jim Frerking, David Lewis, Ben Lewis, Jeff Myrick and Jerry Myrick. Born Oct. 3, 1954, in Osceola, he was the son of the late David C. Bryant and Mildred Rector Bryant. Jerry was a 1972 graduate of Lafayette County C-1 High School in Higginsville and then served from 1972 to 1976 in the United States Marine Corps. During his time in the military he served on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Vietnam. On July 22, 1978, he married Cheryl Hurd, who survives of the home. Jerry was a “jack of all trades” and had worked as a meat cutter for Wilson Foods in Marshall, and eventually retired as a rural mail carrier in 2016. He was a member of American Legion Post 258 in Concordia.
In addition to his wife, Cheryl, he is survived by two sons, Shane Bryant and wife Tracie of Sweet Springs, and Josh Bryant and his wife Emily of Odessa; five grandchildren: Hunter, Kiera, Scarlett, Gunner and Colt; one brother, Lester Bryant of Slater; two sisters, Barbara Treat of Sacramento, Calif., and Genevieve Nelson of rural Lowry City; as well as nieces and nephews.
