3 men charged with kidnapping, sex-related felonies
Three men have been charged with multiple felonies for allegedly holding two females against their will, raping and assaulting them. The men were apprehended in Higginsville by authorities on April 26.
According to probable-cause statements obtained from Lafayette County Circuit Court, members of multiple law-enforcement agencies arrived the Super 8 Motel in Higginsville, the scene of the reported kidnapping. A family member of one of the victims reported that the female was being held against her will until a ransom was paid for her return.
The reports state when authorities arrived on the scene, the females were interviewed by Spanish-speaking detectives, as both victim one and victim two did not speak English. Both victims reportedly told investigators that they had been raped by all three suspects. They also stated they had been physically assaulted and beaten when one of the suspects became angry that their families weren’t paying more money for the victims’ release. The victims reported they were struck in the face, head, upper torso and stomach area. The victims were examined by medical professionals, who reported the females had suffered bruising and other injuries to various areas of their bodies consistent with their testimony.
According to online court documents, Alain Gaspar Camarillo-Linan has been charged with two counts of a Class A Felony for Kidnapping; two counts of a Class C Felony for Sexual Abuse in the First Degree; two counts of a Class E Felony for Assault in the Third Degree; two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Rape or Attempted Rape in the First Degree– Aggravated Sexual Offense; two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Sodomy or Attempted Sodomy in the First Degree – Aggravated Sexual Offense; and one count of an Unclassified Felony for Sodomy or Attempted Sodomy in the First Degree.
The documents also show Jaciel Acdala Mendez-Morales and Luis Angel Sierra-Vallina each has been charged with two counts of a Class A Felony for Kidnapping; two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Rape or Attempted Rape in the First Degree – Aggravated Sexual Offense; and two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Sodomy or Attempted Sodomy in the First Degree – Aggravated Sexual Offense.
Bond for Mendez-Morales and Sierra-Vallina has been set at $500,000 each cash only.
Bond was set for Camarillo-Linan at $150,000 cash only, with the inclusion of several special conditions.
Arraignments for each suspect were held on April 30, and each entered a plea of not guilty. Each man’s cause has been continued for another hearing at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
