CFM Sluggers living up to name, scoring at will in winning stretch
The CFM Sluggers have found their stride in the Majors division (12-and-under) of the LaCoMo East, starting off 4-1 in league play and dominating the competition in their last three games.
—On May 3, CFM earned a 12-0 victory against Higginsville Earthworks. Emily Wilkens went 1-1 from the plate with a double and two walks, while Kiya Inman (2-3), Brooke Bonar (2-3) and Olivia Hemme (2-2) registered multiple hits. Addison Roepe threw a no-hitter over four innings, striking out nine.
—On May 7, CFM defeated the Lexington Moose Lodge, 33-0. Olivia Hemme threw a no-hitter over three innings, striking out four and walking one. The Sluggers picked up 13 hits as a team. Kiya Inman went 4-4 from the plate with a double and a walk, while Delaney Nelson went 2-4 with 3 RBI. Neveah Rozell also tripled.
—On May 10, CFM knocked off Marshall, 21-0. Aby Jones, Delaney Nelson, Neveah Rozell and Brooke Bonar recorded one hit apiece to lead the Sluggers. Every girl scored at least one run in the matchup.
Olivia Hemme also threw her second consecutive no-hitter. She struck out nine batters in three innings, including four in the first inning (the final batter of the game grounded out to her).
